Petersburg, walking distance from Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad and Transfiguration Cathedral. Petersburg - Tchaikovskogo is in the heart of St. One suggestion to management - get coffee machine in lobby so that guests can get a coffee to go.Property Location Hotel Indigo St. Cabs are inexpensive relative to $ exchange rate, but lots of traffic jams during day. Heard that Uber works well in SP, but we didn't try it. I like knowing that there are regular stores nearby - supermarket and pharmacies (the nail polish one :) are less than a block away, on Liteyny Prospekt. 10-15 minute walk or cab ride to most of sights, although area has its own attractions - Summer Gardens, Trinity Church, and Russian Museum. Manicure looked perfect for two weeks! Hotel in 'historical center' but is off main drag. Decided to get a manicure - nail salon didn't really have non-gel colors, so walked half a block to pharmacy, bought polish, and we used that. I saw some disgruntled comments in reviews about the breakfast and not sure what about? Used the gym (not pool, though) twice - clean - yoga mats, weights, machines. Only meal we had in hotel was breakfast and that was good, lots of variety. Not a fan of hotel wall-to-wall carpeting, and I love that Indigo has hardwood floors and area rugs. We had a Superior room on floor 4 - photos att. Give this woman a raise!!! Other housekeeping staff was also great. She really takes pride in the hotel, has can-do attitude, and understands client service. ![]() Right on the spot, she came to our room and removed it. She explained that the beds have very thick, removable pillow-tops. On day 1, we were thinking of switching hotels because of our way-too-soft bed, and bumped into Tatiana in the lobby on our way out - and told her about our dilemma. Particular praise for Tatiana from Housekeeping. This new hotel (opened 2 years ago) is squeaky-clean, with great staff, eager to serve without being servile. Had stayed in Nashville Indigo and loved the SP version even more. If you found my review helpful, I would appreciate your vote. All told a great hotel, just be sure to sign up for Uber first, or be a keen walker. Service was very friendly, especially the front desk. I measured 30Mbps up and download in the lobby. Tip: you can order latte, espresso etc for no extra cost. Breakfast selection was very good, with a little variety each day. The mini-bar with basic items (water, OJ, a beer) is included in the rate and was handy since we took drinks with us every day. It was very spacious with a huge bathroom with two sinks and a (you guessed it, large) walk-in rainfall shower. We had a superior room on the top floor with a small roof terrace and great views. So add 12 USD to your nightly rate and you have a great hotel with a personalised limo service at your beck and call. We solved this by using Uber which even for an Uber Black (Audi A6, BMW 5 series etc) was only 390 RUB (just over 5 EUR or about 6 USD) one way for such distances. I've decided not to hold the location against the hotel, because that is not something they can change! Just be aware before you book that the walk to Palace Square or Nevsky is about 25 mins and the nearest metro station is not really helpful since the line heads North/South.
